Medforce Healthcare Recruitment is currently recruiting a Social Care Worker to join a residential disability service in Galway.

This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism to live fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives within their community.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering person-centred supports that promote independence, dignity, choice, and social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred support to service users
• Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and maximising independence
• Assist with daily living activities, community integration, and social participation
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues
• Support the implementation of individual care plans and person-centred plans
• Promote the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of all service users
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development

Requirements

• Relevant Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or a related discipline
• CORU registration or eligibility to register where applicable
• Experience working within disability services, residential care, or community services is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism
• Knowledge of person-centred planning and positive behaviour support
• Understanding of safeguarding and HIQA standards
• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
