Job summary

Medforce in Galway seeks a Principal Social Worker to lead social work services for clients with complex disabilities, in partnership with the Health Service Executive. Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised professional qualification in Social Work or have a CORU validation.
• Be eligible for CORU registration.
• Postgraduate leadership or management qualification is desirable.
• Experience in complex assessment, case management and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Minimum of five years post-qualification Social Worker experience.
• Experience with intellectual disabilities or complex support needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the provision of social work services for client groups, including casework and safeguarding.
• Supervise Social Work staff and the Home Sharing Coordinator.
• Manage the Designated Officer/Safeguarding system and deliver safeguarding training.
• Lead on admissions, short breaks and service planning with the Client Services Directorate.
• Handle high-level complex cases and supervise referrals to Social Work.
