Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan is seeking a experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a civil engineering team in Cork. The role focuses on overseeing site activities, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring work is delivered to programme, quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil Engineering, 5–8 years' experience, and a proven ability to manage drawings, surveys and on-site planning using engineering software and surveying equipment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years' experience in civil engineering or construction.
• Strong experience in setting out, surveying and interpreting drawings.
• Knowledge of construction methods, quality control and health and safety procedures.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate subcontractors and work within a project team.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and surveying equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site engineering activities, including setting out, levelling and surveying.
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and suppliers to maintain progress.
• Monitor construction programmes and meet deadlines.
• Review drawings and resolve engineering issues as they arise.
• Maintain site records, inspection reports and quality documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
