Job summary

StepStone seeks an experienced data management professional to join the Security Master team supporting its private debt platform. You will own the function, drive governance, data quality and controls, and partner with investment, operations, risk, compliance, finance, reporting and technology.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in data governance/data management or Security Master data in financial services.
• Experience managing a data/operations/reference data or Security Master team.
• Private markets experience preferred; private debt/loans/structured products advantageous.
• Strong data governance principles, practices, and frameworks.
• Proven leadership, prioritisation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Security Master data governance and controls for the private debt business.
• Lead a senior team, acting as primary contact for Security Master matters.
• Partner with investment, operations, risk, compliance, finance, reporting and technology.
• Maintain data dictionaries, definitions, lineage, and governance framework.
• Define metrics, exception reporting, validation checks, and remediation processes.
• Drive data quality improvements and governance initiatives with stakeholders.
• Ensure documentation for data definitions, ownership, and approvals is maintained.
