Job summary

TANA Recruitment is seeking a Designated Person (DP) for Operational Risk for its Irish-based investment management client. The role carries European regulatory remit and a global risk perspective, with responsibility for risk oversight across UCITS funds in Europe and advisory input to US HQ.

The role offers a pathway to senior management with exposure to a high value environment and opportunities for career progression within a dynamic investment business in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil the DP for Operational Risk Management role.

• Monitor and review risk management framework for operations and investments.
• Develop risk appetite/framework for new products or assets.
• Ensure key risks are measured, reported to Head of Office and Board.
• Align risk objectives with company strategy and investment philosophy.

This role will have a European Regulatory remit and a global risk perspective. You will play a key role within the business unit with a functional reporting line to the Country Manager and initially fulfilling the DP for Operational Risk Management role. You will cover all the risk oversight aspects of the UCITS funds business in Europe as well as playing an important part providing risk expertise to the US based HQ business across operations and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Fulfil the DP for Operational Risk Management role.
• Become the in-house subject matter expert on all relevant risk management matters, leveraging HQ’s and third-party resources as needed
• Identification, measurement, and management of risks with particular focus on processes, people risk, cyber security, operational resilience, business continuity and outsourcing and appropriate risk management controls
• Ongoing monitoring, assessment, and review of the risk management framework for operational and investment risks and appropriate risk management controls
• Development of an appropriate risk appetite / framework for new products, strategies, or asset types
• Ensure that all key risks are measured and monitored appropriately, and are reported to the Head of Office and the Board to meet all regulatory and commercial expectations
• Alignment of key risk management objectives with the overall company strategy and investment philosophy

Key Requirements
