Job summary

FRS Recruitment is assisting a leading private healthcare provider in Galway to recruit a Senior Respiratory Physiologist. The role concentrates on sleep diagnostics and comprehensive respiratory physiology investigations, delivering high-quality diagnostic services within an expanding department.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years post-qualification experience in respiratory physiology.
• Eligibility for professional registration/accreditation relevant to respiratory physiology.
• Extensive experience in sleep diagnostics, including polysomnography.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff within a laboratory setting.
• Experience working in a dedicated respiratory physiology and sleep laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform and interpret a comprehensive range of respiratory physiology investigations (spirometry, lung volumes, DLCO, bronchial challenge, overnight oximetry).
• Lead and deliver sleep diagnostic services, including setup, scoring and interpretation of studies.
• Support sleep-disordered breathing pathways, including CPAP initiation and troubleshooting.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the laboratory and maintain quality assurance standards.
• Collaborate with Respiratory Consultants, Sleep Physicians and the MDT to provide patient-centered diagnostics.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed technical reports.
