Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Reliability, to build and operate highly reliable, scalable platforms at global scale. You will focus on availability, latency, and automation while shaping SRE practices across teams.

You will design observability, define SLIs/SLOs, and collaborate with product, platform, and security engineers to ship dependable systems. Strong coding and cloud-native experience are required.

Qualifications

• Cloud-native SRE with a strong software engineering background.
• Production-quality code in Python/Go to build internal platforms.
• Experience operating distributed, cloud-native systems at scale.
• Deep familiarity with Kubernetes, deployment strategies and service networking.
• Ability to design observability, alerts, SLIs/SLOs, and incident response.
• Hands-on IaC and declarative config (Terraform, Kubernetes manifests).
• Capacity planning, load testing, and post-incident reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate foundational services prioritizing availability and latency.
• Automate infrastructure to reduce toil and improve reliability at scale.
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and budgets to guide engineering decisions.
• Improve observability and incident response; participate in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with product, platform, and security engineers on architecture.
• Mentor peers to raise reliability and engineering maturity.
