Job summary

Horizon Quantum Computing in Ireland seeks a senior scientist to help build software development tools for quantum computing. You will collaborate with product, engineering and design teams to implement features and ensure correct integration with Horizon's products.

The role requires a PhD and hands-on experience with quantum hardware, modeling quantum circuits, and programming in C/C++ and Python. You will mentor junior scientists, document results, and contribute to advancing Horizon's

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Physics, related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of post-doctoral work or equivalent R&D experience at a comparable level.
• Experience in quantum hardware and modeling realistic quantum circuits.
• Programming experience with pulse-level languages.
• Working knowledge of quantum computing.
• Programming experience with C, C++ and Python and preferably Matlab.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Horizon's products with other employees.
• Solve scientific and technical problems and implement these solutions in code for integration with Horizon's products and services.
• Develop quantum control within Horizon's product framework.
• Mentor junior scientists on the team.
• Maintain proper documentation and present results internally and externally.
• Write reports, research papers and technical documentation as required.
• Collaborate with external partners to protect intellectual property.
• Keep up to date with latest scientific and technical advances.
