Job summary

Horizon Quantum is seeking a senior scientist to build software development tools for quantum computing. You will collaborate with product, engineering and design teams to enable technology behind our products and ensure successful feature implementations.

The role involves solving technical problems, developing quantum control, mentoring junior scientists, and maintaining thorough documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• PhD required or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 2+ years post-doctoral or equivalent R&D experience.
• Experience with quantum hardware and modeling realistic quantum circuits.
• Programming with pulse-level languages.
• Strong background in software development processes.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to document and present results clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Horizon’s products with colleagues.
• Solve scientific and technical problems and implement in code.
• Develop quantum control within Horizon’s product framework.
• Mentor junior scientists on the team.
• Maintain documentation and present results internally and externally.
• Write reports, research papers and technical docs as required.
• Collaborate with partners to protect IP.
• Keep up to date with latest scientific and technical advances.
