Job summary

Sisk is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of high‑value projects in Ireland. You will work with the Contracts Manager and project team to maximise commercial returns, manage risk and ensure contractual compliance across traditional, design and build contracts.

In this role you will mentor junior commercial staff, oversee procurement activities from tenders to final accounts, prepare forecasts and cash flows, and report on performance to senior management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Training in commercial management, dispute resolution and contract law.
• Training in leadership, delegation, presentation and communication skills.
• Training in behavioural-based safety and risk management.
• Chartered membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional body (Desirable).
• CPD in legislation, industry trends and advanced commercial management practices (Desirable).

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the project commercial strategy.
• Represent the company in commercial and contractual matters.
• Lead procurement activities from tenders to final account.
• Prepare and present financial forecasts, cash flows and valuations.
• Manage variations with supporting records.
• Produce final accounts promptly.
• Ensure compliance across contracts up to €5m–€15m.
• Maintain and update risk and opportunity registers.
• Monitor changes and mitigate to improve outcomes.
• Manage claims and disputes with records and representation.
• Mentor and oversee junior commercial staff.
• Provide training on measurement, reporting and procedures.
• Support performance reviews and development plans.
• Promote collaboration within the team.
• Deliver accurate commercial reporting per valuation policy.
• Review cost value reconciliations.
• Support pre-construction input during tenders and two-stage procurement.
• Report to senior management on performance, risks and opportunities.
• Interpret contract law to protect the company's position.
• Advise on contract conditions including NEC and JCT.
• Draft contract correspondence and client reports.
• Lead procurement and management of complex subcontract agreements.
• Advise on bonds, warranties, insurances and LOIs.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and partners.
• Support negotiations to secure outcomes.
• Build long-term professional relationships.
