Job summary

Red Chair Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Tralee client’s commercial team. You’ll oversee project costs, financial reporting, and contractual matters across a diverse civil and construction portfolio.

You’ll manage budgets, cost plans, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations, while mentoring junior team members and liaising with clients and consultants to ensure value and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of QS experience, ideally with main contractor or civil engineering firm.
• Strong knowledge of cost management, procurement, contracts, and Irish construction industry.
• Excellent commercial, analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in relevant commercial/construction software.
• SCSI or RICS chartership status would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and cost management of assigned projects from tender through to final account.
• Prepare budgets, cost plans, forecasts and regular commercial reports.
• Manage procurement, tender analysis and subcontractor negotiations.
• Monitor project costs, variations, valuations, claims and financial performance.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Support contract administration and resolution of commercial disputes.
• Provide guidance and support to junior members of the commercial team.
