Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Dublin is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation for major infrastructure projects. You will prepare detailed cost plans, analyze drawings, and coordinate with engineers and project management to ensure estimates stay within budget.

You will train junior estimators, report estimate changes, and liaise with stakeholders to support commercial decisions. A strong background in civil projects and NEC contracts is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in cost management and estimation.
• 5+ years on active civil, rail/transit, airport or commercial construction.
• Knowledge of contracting methods: DBB, DB, CMAR, GMP.
• Experience with Candy, CostX or similar estimating software.
• Tangible experience implementing costing/estimating frameworks within a PMO.
• Experience on large civil projects in rail, water, or aviation.
• Working knowledge of NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates to the appropriate level of detail based on design information.
• Analyze documents, drawings and plans to identify cost drivers.
• Communicate cost findings to senior management, contractors and vendors.
• Obtain accurate pricing data from databases, contractors and suppliers.
• Review and finalise estimates reflecting market conditions.
• Collaborate with MetroLink to align scope with project goals.
• Mentor junior estimators and support reporting of estimate changes.
• Prepare material take-offs from documents and drawings.
• Review contracts to understand scope and cost allowances.
• Perform additional duties as required.
