Job summary

NexVentur, an Irish-owned offsite construction manufacturer in Longford, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management across tender to final account. You will oversee cost planning, procurement, contract administration and financial performance to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The role requires a strong background in construction, design and build, modular or offsite manufacturing, with advanced Excel skills and knowledge of MMC

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience within construction, design and build, modular or offsite construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts (RIAI, JCT, NEC or FIDIC).
• Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
• Experience using CostX, Cubit, Buildsoft or similar estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, BOQs and pricing schedules.
• Produce accurate cost models for labour, materials, subcontractors and manufacturing inputs.
• Support value engineering initiatives to improve cost efficiency.
• Maintain cost databases and benchmarking information.
• Assist with tender submissions and client pricing.
• Manage project budgets, valuations, forecasts and cost reporting.
• Monitor project cashflow, variations and commercial risks.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports and margin analysis.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and audit trails.
• Work closely with finance, production, design and site teams to ensure commercial performance.

• Manage variations, claims and contractual correspondence.
• Negotiate commercial matters while protecting the company's interests.

Job description

My client an Irish-owned offsite construction manufacturer based in Longford, specialising in the design, engineering, manufacture and installation of modular buildings using Light Gauge Steel (LGS) framing systems is looking for a full-time, permanent position based in Longford, with hybrid working flexibility. We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial, Construction & manufacturing background who can manage the full project lifecycle, including cost planning, procurement, contract administration, valuations, commercial reporting, and final accounts.

The salary range for the role is €90,000–€110,000, together with an attractive benefits package, depending on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.

The Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial and contractual management of projects from tender through to final account. Working closely with senior management and operational teams, the successful candidate will oversee cost planning, procurement, contract administration, commercial reporting and financial performance to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and pricing schedules.
