Job summary

Rent a Recruiter is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team for opportunities in Limerick and Galway. You will manage cost and commercial aspects across major construction and infrastructure projects, guiding them from inception to completion.

You will work closely with clients, contractors and project stakeholders to deliver projects financially and commercially, mentoring junior team members and contributing to tendering and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Significant post-graduate experience in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management.
• Experience on medium to large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Experience with cost planning, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Chartership with SCSI/RICS advantageous.
• Excellent commercial and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

An established and growing consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, with opportunities available in Limerick and Galway.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to work on a diverse portfolio of major construction and infrastructure projects, providing professional cost and commercial management services from project inception through to completion.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, contractors, project managers, engineers and other stakeholders, helping to deliver projects successfully from both a financial and commercial perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full Quantity Surveying and cost management services across a range of projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets and financial reports.
• Manage project costs throughout the design and construction phases.
• Prepare and review tender documentation and assist with procurement.
• Analyse tenders and provide commercial recommendations.
• Monitor project expenditure, cash flow and financial performance.
• Manage variations, claims, valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare and review contractual and commercial documentation.
• Provide commercial advice to clients and project teams.
• Support contract administration and dispute avoidance/resolution where required.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial objectives.
• Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors and other members of the commercial team.

Requirements

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Significant post-graduate experience within Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
• Experience working on medium to large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management.
• Experience with cost planning, procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent commercial and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Professional membership of SCSI/RICS or progress towards chartership would be advantageous.
