Purpose of the Post
Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a Senior Project Manager to join their team.The duration of this post is 12 months initially and location is Drogheda (hybrid working.
Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €45.49 per hour based on an annualised salary of €83,081. You will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays.

The Senior PM will lead on the delivery of a national high-impact projects associated with identity management within healthcare and requires a motivated self-starter who will drive strategic initiatives within healthcare organisations. They will be member of our Senior Management Team (SMT), driving the National IHI and wider Identity Management Programmes in line with the Digital for Care strategy.
The role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple project work streams simultaneously while collaborating with various stakeholders across the health sector.Projects must be executed efficiently, meet regulatory standards and deliver tangible improvement to healthcare services, patient outcomes and operational efficiencies.
- Lead and drive a major change management project within the Irish Healthcare system, ensuring its successful completion within a 12-month timeframe.
- Take ownership of the project, providing strategic direction and proactive leadership to achieve project milestones and objectives.
- Coordinate and manage a diverse group of stakeholders, including clinical, operational, technical, and governance representatives, ensuring their engagement and alignment with project goals.
- Develop, implement, & monitor comprehensive project plans, strategies, & timelines to drive the project to completion.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders, fostering a unified approach to project delivery.
- Identify & mitigate risks, ensuring the project remains on track & addressing any issues promptly to avoid delays.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices within the healthcare sector throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in project management processes and methodologies to enhance project outcomes.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to project team members, cultivating a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Manage resources efficiently to achieve project goals within the allocated time.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement best practices in project management to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery
- Lead in the delivery of projects, functions and services
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to define project requirements, project governance and project scope
- Liaise collaboratively and professionally with internal / external stakeholders and partners in the identification and delivery of suitable projects
- Identify impediments and issues facing project delivery and ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are in place
- Provide subject matter expertise to various working groups, as required.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within project teams
- Measure improvements and demonstrate success when leading out on projects
- Ensure any lessons learned and embedded in further project planning
- Report on project progress to the General Manager / Senior Management Team / Project Sponsor on the progress and status of assigned projects
Qualifications and / or experience:
- Experience of working with or leading projects of national significance with business, technical, governance and legal activities across the lifecycle of the project.
- Significant business operations, change management and/or project management experience including experience of using structured change and project methodologies to deliver projects to successful outcomes in a complex environment.
- A qualification in Health Administration, Project Management, Business or a related field. Project Management certification is desirable but not essential.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a track record of successful project delivery
- Experience in developing & implementing standards, policies, procedures and guidelines as relevant to this role.
- Experience of working collaboratively cross functionally within a complex working environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders, as relevant to the role.
- Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
