Job summary

Cardiac Services, part of Uniphar Medtech, is seeking a Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and deliver large-scale installation and digital health projects across IOI and the UK. You will lead cross-functional teams including service engineering, clinical IT, and vendor partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and adoption of digital health solutions in healthcare environments.

Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, managing budgets and risks, coordinating interfaces

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ project management experience delivering complex installation and/or digital health projects
  • Recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing clinical information systems and medical device integration deployments (HL7 interfacing) is a strong advantage
  • Strong IT proficiency and understanding of hospital IT infrastructure and interoperability standards
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and cross-functional teams to deliver on time and on budget

  • Oversee user readiness, training coordination, and post-go-live support/hypercare
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, quality, and documentation standards

Job description

The Project Manager holds responsibility for the planning, coordination, and end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale installation projects and digital health projects across Cardiac Services / Uniphar Medtech on the island of Ireland (IOI) and UK. This role leads complex capital installation programmes together with the deployment and integration of clinical information systems and medical device integration platforms – including Nervecentre EHR, Hyland PACSgear, and Philips Capsule Medical Device Integration – ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, to specification, and in full compliance with clinical, regulatory, and quality standards.

The role provides project leadership across cross‑functional teams – service engineering, clinical IT, clinical applications, sales, vendor partners, and customer stakeholders – driving consistent delivery excellence, customer satisfaction, and the successful adoption of digital health solutions within live healthcare environments, in alignment with Uniphar Medtech’s commercial objectives.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Delivery
  • Project Management of large‑scale medical device and system installation projects across IOI and UK, from initiation and planning through commissioning, go‑live, and handover.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers, managing project scope, change control, and milestone tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate site surveys, site readiness, logistics, equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance in conjunction with field service and clinical engineering teams.
  • Deliver projects to agreed time, cost, quality, and safety targets, reporting progress and performance against defined project KPIs.
  • Proactively identify, manage, and escape project risks, issues, and dependencies to protect delivery outcomes.
  • Digital Health & Clinical Systems Implementation
  • Manage the deployment, configuration, and integration of clinical information systems and digital health solutions, including Nervecentre EHR, Hyland PACSgear, and Philips Capsule Medical Device Integration.
  • Coordinate technical configuration, interfacing (e.g. HL7 / FHIR), data migration, and integration with hospital IT infrastructure and existing clinical systems, ensuring that the relevant technical teams deliver their respective components .
  • Work closely with clinical IT, biomedical engineering, hospital informatics, and vendor partners to plan and execute testing, validation, cutover, and a safe, clinically‑assured go‑live.
  • Oversee end‑user readiness, training coordination, and post‑go‑live support / hypercare to ensure successful clinical adoption.
  • Ensure clinical, operational, data security, and cybersecurity requirements are met in line with vendor, healthcare, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage project budgets, procurement, purchase orders, and cost control, ensuring projects are delivered within financial targets and margins are protected.
  • Manage vendor and supplier partners to ensure competitive, reliable, and scalable delivery.
  • Support tender and bid activity by providing project delivery input, scoping, resource planning, and realistic delivery timelines, in collaboration with Sales and Service colleagues.
  • Coordinate and schedule internal resources – clinical field service engineers, clinical application specialists, and clinical IT specialists – to align capacity with the project portfolio.
  • Governance, Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all projects are delivered in full compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, quality, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain robust project governance, including stage gates, RAID logs, steering / status reporting, and controlled project documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, supplier partner training standards, service protocols, and quality management systems across all project activity.
  • Manage project‑related documentation, as‑built records, validation evidence, and handover packs to support ongoing service and support.
  • Support the Service elements of Recalls, FSN’s and FCO’s where project scope is affected, in conjunction with the Uniphar Medtech Quality team.
  • Act as the primary project point of contact for customers, maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers, clinical, IT, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Chair operational project meetings, prepare & administer steering committees, and status reviews, managing stakeholder expectations, communications, and escalations.
  • Work with the Service Operations & Installations Manager to respond to escalated project issues, ensuring prompt resolution and long‑term customer confidence.
  • Build long‑term customer confidence to support future service, upgrade, and expansion opportunities.
Role Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ project management experience delivering complex installation and/or digital health / clinical systems projects, ideally within a medical device, healthcare, or clinical engineering environment.
  • Recognised project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP, APM, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience managing clinical information systems, EHR, or medical device integration deployments (e.g. Nervecentre, PACS / PACSgear, Capsule / medical device integration, HL7 interfacing) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong IT proficiency and a good understanding of hospital IT infrastructure, networking, and interoperability standards.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and cross‑functional teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Full UK / IOI driving licence & eligibility to work in the United Kingdom and/or Republic of Ireland.
  • Willingness to travel across IOI and UK to customer and installation sites as required.
