Job summary

Electricity Supply Board (ESB) is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer for the HV Substations Delivery team in Dublin. The role focuses on the design and construction of high voltage transmission and distribution assets, with responsibility for leading multi-disciplinary design inputs and coordinating project programming and commercial management.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage significant projects, and support safety and stakeholder engagement across nationwide travel.

Qualifications

• Level 8 Engineering Degree or equivalent; demonstrated capability in civil or structural engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant civil or structural engineering experience.
• Proven track record in managing significant projects or key aspects of significant projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural engineering services within the HV Substations Civil Team, including reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
• Prepare civil/structural technical specifications, reports and drawings.
• Undertake site inspections, data collection and analysis to support designs and assessments.
• Contribute inputs for site investigations, feasibility, design and consenting.
• Provide design review support for EPC and Design and Build projects.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will cover the items below:

• Provision of the requisite civil and structural technical engineering services within theHV Substations Civil Teamfully embracing ESB's Safety Culture.Projects covered within the team can involve a range of civil and structural design disciplines including reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
• Prepare civil and structural engineering technical specifications,reportsand design drawings.
• Undertake site inspections, datacollectionand analysis tofacilitateeffective technical designs and / or technical assessments.
• Provideinputs for site investigation, assessment, feasibility,designand consenting purposes.
• Provide design review support asrequiredfor EPC and Design and Builddelivered projects.
• Undertakelead engineer role on projects with responsibilities including coordinating multi-disciplinary design inputs, Client interfacing, designfeeand programme management.
• Mentor and provide technical support to lesser experienced team members.

We are looking for the followingskills.

• A high levelof specialistexpertise, including a strong technical capability, in Civil or Structural engineeringwithparticular referenceto reinforced concrete and/or structural steeldesign..
• At least 5 years relevant Civil or Structural engineering experience.
• Demonstrated a record of successfully managing significant projects or key aspects of significant projects.
• A strong commercial and project management capability.
• Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure.
• Full clean driving licence and access to a car.
• Strong safety awareness and competency.
• Strong communicationand stakeholdermanagement skills.
• Flexibility to travel nationwide.

Qualifications

• Level 8 Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.

The Sidings Grand Canal Dock,Dublinor Eastgate Cork.
