Job summary

ESB is seeking a Civil/Structural engineer to join the Networks HV SubStations Civil Team in Dublin. You will deliver civil/structural design for high voltage assets, manage project programming, and ensure safety culture across projects.

Flexible remote/smart working with in-person base attendance is offered. The role requires an engineering degree (Level 8 or Level 7 with relevant experience), at least 2 years in civil/structural roles, a full driving licence, and willingness to travel

  • Level 8 Engineering Degree or Level 7 Engineering Degree with relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant Civil or Structural engineering experience.
  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence.
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Provide civil and structural engineering services within the Networks HV SubStations Civil Team, embracing ESB's Safety Culture.
  • Prepare civil/structural engineering specifications, reports and drawings.
  • Undertake site inspections, data collection and analysis to support designs and assessments.
  • Coordinate inputs from sub-contractors and sub-consultants for site investigations and feasibility studies.

A Brighter, zero carbon future awaits! Join our dedicated team where we provide specialist engineering services in the Design and Construction of High Voltage Transmission and Distribution Assets for the Networks Business.

The team specialises in;

  • Conceptual and detailed Engineering Design.
  • Design Safety Management.
  • Project programming and commercial management.
  • Design review for EPC and Design and Build Projects
Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will cover the items below:

  • Provision of the requisite civil and structural technical engineering services within the Networks HV SubSstations Civil Team fully embracing ESB’s Safety Culture. Projects covered within the team can involve a range of civil and structural design disciplines including reinforced concrete and structural steel design.
  • Prepare civil and structural engineering technical specifications, reports and design drawings.
  • Undertake site inspections, data collection and analysis to facilitate effective technical designs and / or technical assessments.
  • Specify and manage sub-contractor and sub-consultant inputsProvide input as necessary for site investigation, assessment, feasibility, design and consenting purposes.

We are looking for the following skills.

  • A high level of specialist expertise, including a Sstrong technical capability, in Civil or Structural engineering with particular reference to reinforced concrete and/or structural steel design.
  • Strong project management and program management skills.
  • Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong safety awareness and competency.
Essential
  • At least 2 years relevant Civil or Structural engineering experience.
  • A full clean Irish/EU driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide.

Location

The Sidings Dublin 2 or Eastgate Cork.
