Job summary

Whatnot is seeking a Production Engineer to join our Dublin-area hub and help scale live video and real-time commerce. You will embed with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to identify and fix bottlenecks at scale, ensuring low latency and high reliability across services and the bidding path.

You’ll work across payments, live video, search, and security, owning incidents and driving systemic improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field; equivalent work experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Go deep with embedded team to improve reliability and performance.
• Hunt anomalies across traffic, latency, error, and cost signals and trace root causes.
• Connect operational signals to business impact and prioritize fixes.
• Lead incident response for cross-team failures with systemic fixes.
• Prepare for peak events with capacity modeling and load testing.
• Improve observability to detect next anomaly quickly.
• Apply AI to operations for anomaly detection and toil reduction.
• Share on-call duties and act as escalation point for incidents.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure robust production systems.
