Job summary

Tyndall National Institute in Ireland seeks a Senior Post-Doctoral researcher to design and drive a research programme on oxide semiconductors (OSC) for future CMOS technologies. You will define device architectures, develop processing methods for OSC TFTs, and advance electrical characterization techniques.

You will work within the NanoIC pilot line, collaborate with modelling groups, apply for external funding, and disseminate results through top-tier journals and conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD in materials sciences, engineering, physics or related discipline; typically 6 years postdoctoral experience.
• Demonstrated experimental experience in unconventional semiconductors and thin films transistors.
• Demonstrated knowledge of device physics and relevant semiconductor materials.
• Capability of working independently and also effectively within a team to achieve results.
• Established track record of supervision and mentoring of researchers and students.
• Desirable: Experience in TCAD simulation tools for interpretation of results.
• Desirable: Experience in device fabrication and electrical characterisation.

Responsibilities

• Design TFT devices and test structures.
• Develop fabrication process flows.
• Plan advanced electrical measurement methods.
• Use TCAD simulations to interpret device performance and defect roles.
• Data analysis and interpretation of electrical results.
• Collaborate with modelling and synthesis groups and provide feedback on material properties.
