Job summary

Tyndall National Institute invites applications for a Research Fellow in Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) focused on Materials Modelling for Devices in the NanoIC programme. You will design and implement a TCAD-driven research plan to model and optimise next‑generation devices based on novel materials, bridging theory with fabrication.

You will lead advanced simulations, collaborate with experimental teams, and contribute to grant funding and dissemination.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Semiconductor Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or closely related field.
  • Extensive hands-on TCAD experience and device modelling expertise.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring research staff and students.
  • Track record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications.
  • Ability to secure independent research funding.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a TCAD-driven research programme for novel semiconductor devices.
  • Develop and validate physics-based TCAD models and accelerate device discovery.
  • Collaborate with experimental teams on materials discovery and processing.
  • Translate simulation results into practical design guidelines for fabrication.
  • Assist in grant writing and management; contribute to research dissemination.

Education

PhD in Semiconductor Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or closely related discipline
