Partner Company in Ireland is seeking a senior Platform Security Engineer in a fully remote European environment. The role focuses on cloud security, platform reliability, and secure engineering practices while shaping security strategy in a collaborative, remote-first team.

You will own production security improvements, embed security into workflows, and collaborate with platform engineers to balance risk, speed, and stability. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Production cloud security ownership with measurable impact.
• IAM, SSO/OIDC, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
• Platform engineering across IaC, CI/CD, security automation, observability.
• Kubernetes in production with workload security.
• Networking and edge tech: VPCs, DNS, TLS, CDNs, and WAFs.
• Reliability engineering: SLOs, on-call, incident postmortems.
• Backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Product-oriented platform engineering focusing on developer experience.
• Ability to write and review code to diagnose problems.
• Experience with AI tooling to accelerate tasks.
• Fluent English in remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure-by-default workflows for production operations, ensuring access is controlled and auditable.
• Strengthen cloud security practices including IAM, SSO/OIDC, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
• Secure and operate production Kubernetes environments with workload security and access controls.
• Integrate security checks and automated scanning into CI/CD pipelines to catch vulnerabilities early.
• Improve IaC practices, developer tooling, and self-service guardrails for secure workflows.
• Manage cloud networking and edge protection (VPC, DNS, TLS, load balancing, CDN, WAF).
• Define and improve security priorities, incident workflows, threat modeling, and post-incident reviews.
• Strengthen platform reliability with SLOs, observability, on-call practices, and incident troubleshooting.
• Design, implement, and test backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Lead resilience exercises and refine recovery playbooks for clear objectives.
• Use AI-powered engineering tools and MCP integrations to accelerate work.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to balance risk, speed, and stability.
• Document decisions, communicate trade-offs, and monitor adoption metrics.
