Job summary

MCS Group Ireland is working with a scaleup technology business in Dublin on a Senior Platform Engineer opportunity to build a secure, resilient Azure platform and cloud foundation that can scale with growth.

You will collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement Terraform-based IaC, Azure DevOps pipelines, monitoring, observability, and cost-management while shaping the platform’s evolution in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Platform, DevOps, Cloud or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands-on Azure experience.
• Experience in highly regulated environments (Financial Services, FinTech, Banking, Payments, Wealth Management, Insurance).
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps.
• Automate deployment and platform processes.
• Work across containers, networking, APIs, application services and event-driven architecture.
• Build monitoring, logging and observability across the platform.
• Improve platform performance, resilience and availability.
• Strengthen cloud security, identity and access controls.
• Support multi-tenant cloud environments.
• Monitor and optimise Azure performance and cost.
• Create dashboards, alerts and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, QA and Product teams as the platform scales.

MCS Group Ireland is working exclusively with a scaleup technology business in Dublin on a really exciting Platform Engineer opportunity.

The business is entering a major phase of growth, backed by significant investment and with ambitious plans to scale its core product and technology platform.

They're now looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join the team and help build the cloud foundations needed to support that next stage of growth.

This is not a maintenance-focused role. You'll be joining at a point where there is real investment going into the platform, giving you the opportunity to influence how it is built, deployed, monitored and scaled.

The Role

Senior Platfrom Engineer

Dublin City Centre

You'll work closely with the wider engineering and product teams to build a secure, resilient and highly scalable Azure platform.

The role will involve:

• Building and evolving cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure

• Developing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform

• Designing and improving CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps

• Automating deployment and platform processes

• Working across containers, networking, APIs, application services and event-driven architecture

• Building monitoring, logging and observability across the platform

• Improving platform performance, resilience and availability

• Strengthening cloud security, identity and access controls

• Supporting multi-tenant cloud environments

• Monitoring and optimising Azure performance and cost

• Creating dashboards, alerts and operational runbooks

• Working closely with Software Engineering, QA and Product teams as the platform scales

Requirements

You'll ideally have 5+ year's experience within Platform, DevOps, Cloud or Infrastructure Engineering, with strong hands-on Azure experience.

Given the nature of the product, they are particularly interested in people who have worked within a highly regulated environment, ideally across areas such as:

• Financial Services

• FinTech

• Banking

• Payments

• Wealth Management

• Insurance

• Other regulated technology environments

Strong experience across the following would be ideal:

• Microsoft Azure

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

• Azure DevOps

• CI/CD and deployment automation

• Azure networking, security and identity

• Containers and cloud-native infrastructure

• Monitoring and observability

• Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar tooling

• Building secure, highly available and scalable production environments
