Job summary

Cpl Recruitment partners with a leading international organisation to appoint a Platform Engineer in Dublin to join a growing AI engineering team. In a Google Cloud environment, you will build and scale a secure, reliable platform underpinning AI-powered products and enable rapid product development.

You’ll work across cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, observability, and platform engineering to establish solid foundations for a rapidly expanding engineering function.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial experience in Platform/Cloud/DevOps or SRE roles.
• Hands-on experience with major public cloud, preferably Google Cloud.
• Experience building infrastructure-as-code using Terraform.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Scripting skills with Python or Bash and automation.
• Understanding of IAM, security, and cloud networking best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure for AI and software workloads.
• Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and automation tools.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform deployments.
• Improve platform reliability via monitoring, logging, alerting, and secret management.
• Support AI/ML workloads by maintaining cloud platform and deployment environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers to deliver a self-service platform for rapid product development.
• Contribute to platform standards, cloud governance, and security practices.

• This is an excellent opportunity for a cloud-focused engineer to help build and scale the platform that underpins a new generation of AI-powered products. Working within a modern Google Cloud environment, you'll play a key role in developing secure, scalable infrastructure, improving developer experience, and enabling engineering teams to deliver AI applications efficiently and reliably.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimise cloud infrastructure to support modern AI and software engineering workloads.
• Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and other automation technologies.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application, infrastructure, and platform deployments.
• Improve platform reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, secrets management, and operational best practices.
• Support AI and machine learning workloads by maintaining the underlying cloud platform and deployment environments.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to deliver a self-service platform that enables rapid product development.
• Contribute to platform standards, cloud governance, security, and engineering best practices.
• Continuously improve automation, scalability, performance, and developer experience across the engineering environment.

Requirements

• 3–5 years' commercial experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with a major public cloud platform, with Google Cloud experience highly desirable.
• Commercial experience building and managing infrastructure-as-code, ideally using Terraform.
• Experience designing and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Good scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management (IAM), security, and infrastructure best practices.
• Experience supporting highly available, scalable production environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Desirable

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Exposure to MLOps, AI platforms, or machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, containerisation, or cloud-native technologies.
• Experience working within AI, media, digital content, or high-growth technology environments.
