Job summary

Abbott Ireland is seeking a skilled fitter to maintain and repair plant equipment at our Cootehill site. You will follow cGMP and SOPs, ensure safety and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime across production and utility areas.

Responsibilities include installing and commissioning equipment, troubleshooting, and assisting in the development of apprentices while adhering to lockout-tagout and height-working rules.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with ability to maintain and repair plant equipment.
• Ability to read diagrams and troubleshoot equipment.
• Familiar with cGMP, EHS and SOPs.
• Experience with PPE and lockout-tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Minimise downtime in production and utility areas.
• Install, inspect, adjust, lubricate, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
• Perform routine PM checks to keep equipment at optimum performance.
• Develop training aids for operators and craft personnel.
• Carry out handovers at shift end.
• Follow health and safety rules and SOPs, including hotwork and confined space procedures.
• Ensure lockout-tagout and Working from Heights compliance.
• Assist in apprentices' development.
