Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Ireland seeks a Process Engineering Technician to operate and maintain critical plant, utilities and equipment at the Longford site. You will maximise availability of facilities, utilities and equipment and support manufacturing, electrical systems and related processes.

Responsibilities include daily maintenance, oversight of external contractors, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and compliance to standards while contributing to energy management initiatives.

Qualifications

• A relevant third‑level qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline, or a recognised trade qualification with relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role; experience in a regulated environment is advantageous.
• Experience with Clean‑in‑Place (CIP) processes and plant utilities would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventative and demand maintenance on critical plant, utilities and equipment.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors for maintenance or breakdown services.
• Troubleshoot faults, diagnose issues, and support operations with equipment and plant systems.
• Develop understanding of cleanroom HVAC systems and related equipment to resolve issues.
