European Tech Recruit is partnering with a leading semiconductor company in Cork to hire a Physical Design Engineer. You will join a global team handling full physical implementation for premium-tier SOCs using cutting-edge technologies.

The role requires 4+ years in Physical Design, strong PD flow knowledge, experience with 10nm and below, and expertise in STA, power integrity, and DRC. You will automate flows with Perl/TCL and collaborate across functions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Physical Design experience.
• Knowledge of PD flow from netlist to GDS (Floorplan, Power, Placement/CTS/Routing).
• Experience with 10nm and below node technologies.
• Strong STA and timing closure understanding.
• Power analysis and power integrity experience.
• Physical Verification and DRC closure knowledge.
• Automation skills using Perl and TCL; ability to develop/support PD flows.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical implementation from floorplan to GDS for high-speed designs.
• Develop and optimize flows and scripts to improve PPA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on timing, power, and congestion.
• Stay updated on industry trends in physical design and best practices.
• Perform complex analyses to track benchmarks and identify improvements.
• Ensure designs meet high standards and alignment across teams.
