Job summary

Medforce is recruiting for an experienced Director of Nursing to join a brand-new nursing home in Tralee, scheduled to open in 2026. The role requires strong clinical and operational leadership to establish high standards of care, governance and resident experience.

You will lead the nursing and care teams, ensure HIQA compliance and drive staff development, budgets and safety across the home in a supportive management environment.

Qualifications

• Nurse registered with NMBI.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in older care and 3 years in management.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing and care team to high standards of resident care.
• Ensure HIQA compliance, regulations, and best practices.
• Oversee care planning and clinical reviews.
• Lead clinical audits and follow-up improvements.
• Recruit, induct, train and develop nursing and care staff.
• Promote quality improvement and person-centred care.
• Build relationships with residents, families and external professionals.
• Lead team meetings and ensure effective communication.
