Job summary

ZeroOne is a specialist MEP Design Solutions company focused on the European Data Centre sector. We seek an experienced MEP Design Coordinator to lead multi-disciplinary coordination across the full project lifecycle for hyperscale and colocation data centre builds.

You will coordinate BIM/Revit-based models, manage design packages, and drive clash detection, with travel across Europe to client sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in design coordination on large-scale infrastructure (data centre or mission-critical preferred).
• Proven experience running multi-disciplinary clash detection and coordination using BIM/Revit/Navisworks.
• Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and construction documentation processes.
• Working knowledge of QA/QC processes and MEP-related health & safety requirements on site.

• Lead multi-disciplinary MEP design coordination using BIM/Revit federated models; identify and resolve clashes ahead of construction.
• Maintain the master design programme, tracking RFIs, submittals, and design change bulletins through to project completion and sign-off.
• Ensure design packages issued for construction reflect the latest approved revisions and comply with client standards.
• Act as the primary interface between external design consultants, contractors, client representatives and ZeroOne team.
• Chair and minute regular MEP coordination meetings with subcontractors, suppliers and design teams; maintain issue/action logs through to closure.

Job description

Lead the coordination of MEP design across the full project lifecycle for hyperscale and colocation data centre builds, ensuring design intent is captured, clash-free, and progressed through to project completion and sign off, while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality standards.

Location

Remote or Hybrid with travel to European client sites as required. Locations include Dublin, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal and the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary MEP design coordination using BIM/Revit federated models; identify and resolve clashes ahead of construction.
• Maintain the master design programme, tracking RFIs, submittals, and design change bulletins through to project completion and sign-off.
• Ensure design packages issued for construction reflect the latest approved revisions and comply with client standards.

2) Stakeholder & Document Management

• Act as the primary interface between the external design consultants, contractors, client representatives and ZeroOne team.
• Chair and minute regular MEP coordination meetings with subcontractors, suppliers and design teams; maintain issue/action logs through to closure.
• Enforce document control and revision management across the design lifecycle.
• Liaise with utility providers to support power, gas and telecoms connection works where required.

3) Quality, Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure all design coordination activity complies with jurisdictional codes, Uptime Institute Tier requirements, and client governance standards.
• Prepare coordination status reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders.
• Support root cause analysis and lessons-learned reviews on design issues.
• Ensure MEP subcontractor safety statements and site-specific method statements are reviewed and in place before works commence, in coordination with the H&S process.

4) Technical Leadership

• Mentor junior coordinators and engineers on coordination best practice.
• Stay current with BIM coordination tools and data centre design standards.

5) Handover & Close-Out

• Coordinate production of as-built drawings and O&M manuals at practical completion.
• Support coordination of client training with MEP contractors at project handover.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field; 5+ years in design coordination on large-scale infrastructure (data centre or mission-critical preferred).
• Proven experience running multi-disciplinary clash detection and coordination using BIM/Revit/Navisworks.
• Strong working knowledge of MEP systems and construction documentation processes.
• Working knowledge of QA/QC processes and MEP-related health & safety requirements on site.
• Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the European Union and be able to provide evidence of their work authorization if requested.

Preferred

• Experience working within AE/EoR delivery models.

Certifications (nice to have)

• Autodesk Revit/Navisworks certification; PMP or Prince2
