Job summary

Force in Ireland is seeking an experienced Time-Served Mechanical Fitter to join a growing workshop team. The role involves building, testing and installing bespoke machinery and conveyor systems designed by the engineering team, using GA drawings and BOMs.

You will test, commission and support on customer sites across Ireland, liaising with electrical and automation engineers to ensure high-quality delivery and robust build records, while mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• Three years post-apprenticeship experience in machine building or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to read GA drawings, BOMs and pneumatic schematics.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout Ireland.
• Apprenticeship completed with QQI Level 6 or equivalent.
• Safe manual handling certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience with conveyors, packaging machinery or product handling systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mechanically assemble and build conveyor systems and machinery from drawings and BOMs.
• Fit, align and assemble drive components such as motors, gearboxes, belts and couplings.
• Install and connect pneumatic systems and associated FRL units.
• Test and commission machinery at customer sites and during FAT activities.
• Prepare build records and quality documentation per ISO 9001.
• Maintain a safe, clean workshop and assist apprentices.
