Job summary

BMD & Co Ltd is seeking a Construction Manager, Mechanical to lead a team of engineers on a pharmaceutical/biotech project in Ireland. You will ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while developing construction execution plans and subcontract scopes.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will coordinate with schedulers, QS, QA/QC resources, and oversee the site supervision and handover to the client.

Qualifications

• Min 5-7 years relevant CM/Project Engineer experience.
• Experience on mechanical construction in Pharma/Biotech/Oil & Gas essential.
• Experience with equipment installation, piping fabrication/install and pressure testing on site.
• Degree in Construction or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient in NavisWorks or equivalent.
• MSIC completion desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Health and Safety on the project and enforce company safety procedures.
• Oversee work activities to ensure safety, health and welfare of personnel and others affected by operations.
• Ensure method statements, risk assessments, SPA's and client permits are completed.
• Plan all aspects of the work from initiation through execution and closure.
• Manage site supervision team including engineers and craft supervisors.
• Develop constructability report and schedule with the team.
• Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, cost, schedule, quality and safety.
• Liaise with workshops on prefabrication planning and documentation.
• Generate weekly/monthly progress reporting to client/representatives.
• Work with QS on cost management including variations and negotiations.
• Attend internal and client meetings to secure successful outcomes.
• Oversee time-work controls and adapt to change requests.
• Inspect works for safety, technical specs, and design compliance.
• Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure standards compliance and handover packages.
