Job summary

Fohntech Group in Dublin seeks a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our team for a long-term project. You will lead safety, QA/QC, schedule, and cost management on a prestigious front-edge mechanical construction contract.

You will direct the project team, coordinate multiple disciplines, and manage subcontractors to ensure milestones are met and handovers completed with comprehensive close-out documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety management with the project and safety teams.
• Lead site QA management with the QA manager.
• Aid in management of project schedule with the project team and project manager.
• Manage and track all costs: Labour, Material, Plant & Equipment, Variations, Valuations.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations.
• Direct management of the project team and alignment of disciplines.
• Manage sub-contractor activities; track progress and hold weekly meetings with subs and package owners.
• Assist in snagging system; ensure weekly punch lists by supervisors in support of QAQC.
• Ensure direct labour and sub-contractor hours are reported for time tracking.
• Lead site meetings, internal reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handovers.
• Support close-out items including final account O&M Manual, Punch list, Safety File, QA File, relocations, and project plan with site PM.

Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Construction Manager to join our team in Fohntech for our team in Dublin.

This is a long term project working for a leading Mechanical engineering contractor on prestigious leading-edge project.

Responsibilities:

• Assist and lead in the management of site safety in conjunction with the project team and safety team.
  
• Play a lead role in the management of site QA in conjunction with QA manager.
  
• Aid in the management of project schedule in conjunction with the project team and project manager.
  
• Management of and tracking of all costs associated with project including Labour, Material, Plant & Equipment, Variations, Valuations.
  
• Support in the oversight of all day-to-day site operations.
  
• Direct management of the project team including alignment of all disciplines for the achievement of project goals.
  
• Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensue that there is a weekly minutes’ meeting with sub-contractor and package owners.
  
• Assist in the management of the in-progress snagging system ensuring that the supervisors return weekly punch lists where applicable in support of the QAQC manager.
  
• Ensure direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours are reported to time administrator for tracking security.
  
• Lead site meetings, internal project reviews, Engineering reviews, Planning and co-ordination meetings and handover meetings.
  
• Support with the close out of all project items including final account O & M Manual, Punch list, Safety File, QA File, Material and plant re-locations, Project plan – all with the best support of the site project manager.
  

Requirements:

• Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process
  
• A trade background or a relevant third level qualification.
  
• Proven record of coordinating and managing large projects.
  
• A minimum of 4 years as a construction manager.
