Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd in Athlone, Ireland, seeks a Construction Manager (Mechanical) to lead a team of engineers in delivering a complex project safely, on schedule and to high quality standards. You will develop execution plans, schedules and subcontract scopes, coordinating with QS and workshops for successful delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years CM/Project Engineer experience on mechanical construction projects in pharma/biotech/oil & gas, with NavisWorks proficiency and a strong focus

Qualifications

• Min 5-7 years relevant CM/Project Engineer experience.
• Experience on mechanical construction projects in Pharma/Biotech/Semiconductor/Oil & Gas – essential.
• Experience with equipment installation, piping fabrication/installation and pressure testing.
• Degree in Construction or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• NavisWorks proficiency.
• MSIC training desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with high quality standards.
• Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ownership and accountability for tasks from start to finish.
• Decisive under partial information.
• Negotiation and rapport-building with customers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee health and safety on site, ensuring company procedures are followed.
• Manage activities to protect Safety, Health and Welfare of workers and client staff.
• Ensure method statements, risk assessments, SPA’s and client permits are completed.
• Plan work from initiation through execution and close-out for materials and craft needs.
• Lead site supervision team including engineers and foremen.
• Develop constructability reports and schedules with the scheduler and engineers.
• Define subcontractor scopes, tendering and award, controlling costs and schedule.
• Coordinate with workshops on prefabrication planning and documentation.
• Generate weekly/monthly progress reporting for client representatives.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on cost management and variations.
• Attend internal and client site meetings for project success.
• Monitor time worked and implement site change requests.
• Inspect works for safety and design compliance, liaise with QA/QC.
• Oversee handover package assembly to customer.
