Job summary

Jennings O'Donovan & Partners, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Resident Engineers for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Ireland. Positions vary by role level, with opportunities in Cavan, Cork, Louth and Monaghan.

You will supervise MEICA works on-site, ensure safety and quality, review design submissions, and coordinate with multiple contracts to deliver the programme efficiently.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified (Level 8 or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Resident Engineer: 4+ years supervising MEICA works.
• Senior Resident Engineer: 7–10 years on large-scale projects, preferably water sector.
• Solid understanding of water/wastewater industry and capital delivery frameworks.
• Experience in design, installation and commissioning of MEICA systems.
• Proficiency in reading P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control philosophies; managing FAT/SAT.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
• Experience with construction contracts (FIDIC/Public Works forms advantageous).
• Reports and site records management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise MEICA works on-site with accurate records and documentation.
• Report to Project Team and Employer’s Representative.
• Collaborate with site supervision teams across multiple contracts.
• Ensure MEICA works comply with specifications.
• Assess contractor claims, payment applications and KPIs.
• Review RAMS and MEICA submissions; provide clear feedback.
• Evaluate design submissions and equipment specifications for compliance.
• Oversee commissioning activities, including proofing and system testing.
• Contribute to quality and safety standards throughout delivery.
