Job summary

AECOM Ireland is seeking Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Resident Engineers to support Uisce Éireann’s Capital Investment Plan across counties. You will supervise MEICA works on major water and wastewater projects, ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and manage contractor documentation and commissioning activities.

Role requires a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, site supervision experience, familiarity with FIDIC contracts, RAMS reviews, and willingness to travel

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in site supervision of MEICA works.
  • Experience on major infrastructure projects incl. water and wastewater plants, pumping stations, generators, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, regulatory compliance, safety auditing and RAMS review.
  • Experience with construction contracts, including FIDIC.
  • Experience reviewing design submissions, PFDs, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, FDS, control philosophies and commissioning plans.
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance Systems.
  • Willingness to travel to site.

Responsibilities

  • Specialise in Mechanical & Electrical elements of the works.
  • Lead the delivery of on-site infrastructure projects for Uisce Éireann, ensuring safety, quality, environmental, programme and cost compliance.
  • Review and monitor contractor documentation and performance (MEICA design submissions, RAMS, quality plans, FDS, commissioning plans).
  • Supervise MEICA construction activities, conduct safety reviews and quality audits.
  • Monitor commissioning works (FAT, SAT, system testing, process proving).
  • Manage interim and final accounts, variations, claims and KPI performance.
