Job summary

Jennings O'Donovan & Partners, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Resident Engineers for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Ireland. Positions vary by role level, with opportunities in Cavan, Cork, Louth and Monaghan.

You will supervise MEICA works on-site, ensure safety and quality, review design submissions, and coordinate with multiple contracts to deliver the programme efficiently.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified (Level 8 or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Resident Engineer: 4+ years supervising MEICA works.
• Senior Resident Engineer: 7–10 years on large-scale projects, preferably water sector.
• Solid understanding of water/wastewater industry and capital delivery frameworks.
• Experience in design, installation and commissioning of MEICA systems.
• Proficiency in reading P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control philosophies; managing FAT/SAT.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
• Experience with construction contracts (FIDIC/Public Works forms advantageous).
• Reports and site records management experience.

We are currently actively recruiting Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Resident Engineers across various experience levels to join our dynamic and expanding construction supervision team. These positions support the successful delivery of a large-scale programme of Water and Wastewater infrastructure projects commissioned by Uisce Eireann.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a highly regarded Site Supervision Team with a strong reputation for delivering vital infrastructure efficiently and to the highest standards. You will play an integral role in ensuring quality, safety and compliance across interesting and significant capital works.

Key Responsibilities (depending on role level)

• Supervise MEICA works on-site, ensuring accuracy in records, measurements and documentation.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree-qualified (Level 8 or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Resident Engineer: Minimum 4 years’ experience in supervising MEICA works.
• Senior Resident Engineer: 7–10 years of experience in large-scale engineering projects, preferably in the water sector.
• Solid understanding of the water/wastewater industry and capital delivery frameworks.
• Experience in the design, installation and commissioning of MEICA systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control philosophies and managing FAT/SAT.
• Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
• Satisfactory knowledge of construction contracts, experience in FIDIC and Public Works forms of contract would be advantageous but not essential.
• Skilled in producing clear, detailed reports and maintaining thorough site records.
• Experience with Quality Assurance systems and contract management.
• Competency with Microsoft Office and digital documentation tools.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and time management skills.
• Full, clean driving licence required.
