Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking a Leakage Detection Operative to monitor the water network, measure water pressure and flow, and detect leaks in the region. You will use handheld tech and work with the Water Network Operations teams to minimize leakage and maintain service levels.

Role involves potential out-of-hours work, adherence to safety policies, and use of systems like Maximo and LMS to log data and support continuous improvement across the network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year relevant experience in water/utility environment.
• Strong health & safety awareness and ability to work in outdoor settings.
• Ability to manage time and priorities while working in a regional area.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and detect leakage across the water network.
• Use handheld monitoring equipment to measure water flow and pressure.
• Isolate and re-commission sections of the distribution network.
• Escalate leaks to Maintenance and Repair teams for early intervention.
• Support information sharing and reporting within the region and with contractors.
