Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking a Leakage Detection Senior Operative to monitor and protect water networks across Ireland. You will operate DMAs, carry out leakage surveys, and supervise DMA meters to ensure correct configuration while collaborating with Water Network Operations teams.

The role requires hands-on use of leakage detection equipment, data logging devices, and PPE; you will lead junior staff, analyse flow and pressure data, and help identify and repair leaks to reduce non-revenue water.

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
• We keep each other safe - experience and understanding of working within a strong health & safety culture.
• Ability to use monitoring and record-keeping IT equipment and interpret data and network drawings (GIS / Geo field).
• Ability to trace and locate mains / services and street furniture to ensure access for leakage activities.
• Thorough understanding of valve operations and operability issues in DMA data and metering.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with DMA maintenance including supervision of DMA meters.
• Carrying out leakage surveys and sweeps; proactively monitoring DMAs.
• Isolating and re-commissioning sections of the network in a controlled manner.
• Installing and monitoring leakage detection equipment; visual inspections of meters and data loggers.
• Provide leadership for junior team members to drive performance.
• Collecting and interpreting data to identify areas of potential leakage and DLMS data integration.
