Job summary

Vantage Resources is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a 12-month contract in Dublin, with hybrid work. You will design, build and support Java/Spring Boot microservices in a cloud-native environment and handle secure file transfers and enterprise integrations.

You will work with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases, implement secure coding standards, and contribute to automated testing within CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins. Strong collaboration and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java/Spring/Spring Boot backend experience.
• Solid RESTful API design and enterprise integration experience.
• Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL in a production environment.
• Exposure to secure file transfer protocols and MFT/B2B platforms.
• Familiarity with secure coding standards and TDD/BDD practices.
• Comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD (Jenkins).
• Nice to have: Sterling Secure Proxy, high-availability service design, partner onboarding/file routing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support Java/Spring Boot microservices for secure, cloud-native platforms.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Integrate with enterprise MFT/B2B platforms (IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator).
• Work across Oracle/PostgreSQL – data modelling and query design.
• Manage secure file exchange via SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, certificates and encryption.
• Apply secure coding standards (OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT).
• Drive TDD/BDD automated testing practices.
• Work within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure.
• Troubleshoot across application, database, integration and platform layers.
