Job summary

Insight International (UK) Ltd in Dublin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build scalable, cloud-native analytics and data-driven solutions for a leading payments technology client. You will define architecture, lead design, and deliver production-quality software across the full lifecycle.

You will work with Java/Spring Boot, Databricks, Spark, and cloud platforms in a hybrid environment, mentoring others and driving engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, high-performance software in an agile environment.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native apps.
• Strong programming with Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript/React, SQL and related technologies.
• Experience with Databricks, Spark, PySpark for data pipelines and analytics.
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS and/or Azure; CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, observability, automated testing, production support.
• Proven ability to lead design discussions and influence implementation.
• Ability to translate product needs into scalable, secure solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE or related field; advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead team-level system design, including high-level and detailed design, API contracts, and nonfunctional requirements like scalability and security.
• Partner with lead engineers to align implementations with platform architecture and maintainability.
• Develop and optimise data-intensive applications using Databricks, Spark, and related tech to deliver data at scale.
• Be a hands-on contributor across the full engineering lifecycle from ideation to testing and deployment.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across services and data processing workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers with technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Foster a collaborative culture with ownership, clear communication, and high software quality standards.
• Improve engineering quality through code reviews, testing, observability, and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, service, API, data, and cloud layers and drive durable solutions.
