Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Dublin is seeking a Software Development Engineer at mid to senior level for a fixed-term 1-year assignment in a hybrid setup (3 days onsite). You will join a strategic team delivering business-critical applications, leading design discussions and mentoring engineers across full-stack and data-driven projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in Agile environments.
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices and cloud-native apps.
• Strong programming with Java/Spring Boot, TypeScript/React, SQL and related frameworks.
• Experience with Python, Databricks, Spark or PySpark for data pipelines and analytics.
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS and/or Azure, with CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, observability and production support.
• Proven ability to lead design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and guide implementation.
• Ability to translate product and business needs into scalable, secure solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication across cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE or equivalent; advanced degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead team-level system design, including high-level and detailed design, APIs and data flows.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to align implementations with platform goals and standards.
• Develop and optimize data-intensive applications using Databricks, Spark and related tech.
• Develop AI-powered products and agentic workflows leveraging LLMs and tool-calling patterns.
• Mentor junior and midlevel engineers through reviews, guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Improve engineering quality via code/design reviews, testing, observability and CI/CD.
• Address performance bottlenecks across services, data processing and UX.
• Drive production readiness and durable solutions with strong ownership mindset.
