Job summary

Mergon International in Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath, Ireland, is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to ensure the smooth running, security, and optimization of IT systems across the Mergon Group Head Office.

The role is hands-on with ERP knowledge, automation, data governance, and collaboration with a global IT team to share best practices and deliver group-wide initiatives. You will work with Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Microsoft 365/Azure, and ITIL-aligned processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in system administration / IT management.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft 365 / Azure.
• Understanding of business processes, networking, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Systems Administration: manage Windows Server, AD, VMware, and network services.
• ERP, Automation & Data: support ERP usage and identify automation opportunities.
• IT Operations & Service Delivery: provide end-user support and maintain SLAs.
• Security, Compliance & Risk: uphold cybersecurity, GDPR, and IT governance.
• Leadership & Continuous Improvement: mentor IT staff and align initiatives with business goals.
