Job summary

Berkley Group in Cork, Ireland is hiring a Senior Systems Administrator for a contract role onsite 3-4 days per week. You will manage and secure enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include maintaining Windows/Linux servers, VMware/Hyper-V, AD/GPO/DNS/DHCP, MS 365, and network security with firewalls. Strong scripting and DR/backup expertise required. Onsite attendance and own transport essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Systems Administration or IT Infrastructure.
• Strong Windows Server, VMware and Hyper-V experience.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, GPO, Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with networking, firewalls, backup and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with Intune, Azure MFA and Conditional Access.
• PowerShell/Bash scripting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers, VMware and Hyper-V environments.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and Microsoft 365.
• Manage network infrastructure, including Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, switches and wireless.
• Oversee backups, replication and disaster recovery solutions.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and resolve escalated L1.5 support tickets.
• Implement security policies, patching, MFA and Conditional Access.
• Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and Bash.
• Maintain technical documentation and coordinate with third-party vendors.
