Job summary

Elgin Energy is seeking a Senior HV Engineer to act as the in-house technical authority for grid connection and HV design across our utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects in the UK and Ireland, with potential support in Italy. The role focuses on development-stage engineering, optionenerring, land and grid applications, and ensuring contractor designs meet Elgin's requirements and network standards.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Extensive HV/grid connection experience (MV–132 kV, 220 kV Ireland).
• Familiar with GB/Ireland connection process and EPC/ICP contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development-stage grid route optioneering and feasibility studies.
• Define substation footprint, cable routes and land considerations for planning.
• Review contractor designs to meet Employer's Requirements and network standards.
• Interpret offers and agreements, define scope split between ICP/EPC.
• Maintain HV grid standards and lessons learned for projects.
