Job summary

Global Professional Consultants in Ireland is actively seeking a Senior Electrical HV Engineer to join a leading electrical & instrumentation contractor. The role focuses on HV substations, T&D and renewable energy projects in Dublin, delivering design, installation, commissioning and ongoing support.

You will lead design teams, review technical calculations, and ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, EN standards while coordinating with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience in HV substation design, T&D infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of HV systems, electrical design standards and relevant regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and engineering of HV substations, grid connections and associated electrical infrastructure.
• Develop and review technical designs, specifications, drawings and calculations for HV, T&D and renewable energy projects.
• Coordinate with clients, design teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure technical compliance and successful project delivery.
• Provide technical support throughout installation, testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, EN and relevant industry standards.
• Review technical submissions, assess design solutions and resolve engineering issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the SHEQ team to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
