Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking a seasoned HSE Specialist to develop and maintain robust Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems in line with Irish regulations and corporate standards.

You will lead site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and HSE training while coordinating with project teams to drive continuous improvement across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years in a dedicated HSE role in energy/construction/heavy industry.
• Recognized HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ).
• In-depth knowledge of Irish HSE legislation and regs.
• Experience developing and managing HSE management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Strong analytical skills for incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and programs aligned with corporate standards and Irish law.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver HSE training programs across all levels of the organization.
• Advise management on HSE performance, regulatory changes, and risks.
• Prepare comprehensive HSE reports for internal and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain all HSE documentation, records, and permits.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders on HSE integration.
• Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance and culture.
