Job summary

Ashgrove Renewables is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of the company’s Health & Safety function across domestic and commercial retrofit projects in Ireland. You will develop policies, risk management, training programmes and a proactive safety culture.

The role requires QQI Level 8 in H&S, 5+ years in construction safety, and strong leadership with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

QQI Level 8 (or higher) qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management or a related H&S discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ relevant Health & Safety experience within the construction industry, with experience operating at a senior level.
Proven experience in developing and implementing Health & Safety Management Systems, policies, procedures and improvement programmes.
Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation, regulations and construction safety practices.
Demonstrable experience in risk management, audits, inspections, incident investigation and corrective action management.
Experience developing and monitoring H&S KPIs, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and challenge employees and management at all levels.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of the company’s Health & Safety strategy, establishing objectives and improvement programmes.
Develop and maintain a robust Health & Safety Management System across the business and retrofit projects.
Work with management, project managers and site teams to embed Health & Safety into operations.
Maintain Safety Statement, policies, procedures and documentation in line with SEAI requirements.
Establish risk assessment and risk management processes across sites and retrofit projects.
Provide guidance and support to management, contractors and staff on Health & Safety responsibilities.
Lead proactive Health & Safety initiatives aimed at reducing risk and improving performance.
Coordinate site inspections, audits, investigations and implement corrective actions.
