Job summary

Grafana Labs in Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the k6 Core project. You will join a small team building and maintaining k6, a Go-based performance testing tool, with a focus on reliability, correctness, and open-source collaboration.

You’ll work end-to-end from idea to production, contribute to the k6 cloud, and collaborate across distributed services. Expect pragmatic design, clear communication, and strong code reviews in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Proven production software experience in Go or similar language with concurrency support.
• Experience on large or long-lived codebases with maintainable design.
• Ability to own scoped problems and deliver end-to-end.
• Clear technical communication and code-review skills.
• Strong understanding of HTTP, gRPC, WebSockets and networking basics.
• Experience with modern development practices: testing, reviews, iterative work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain k6, a performance testing tool written in Go.
• Contribute to open-source project and engage with the community.
• Develop features from idea through implementation to delivery.
• Address undefined problems with context, trade-offs, and design choices.
• Work independently while collaborating with the engineering team.
• Support Go services for distributed execution in the k6 cloud offering.
• Deliver production-quality code and maintain system reliability.
