Job summary

Grafana Labs in Ireland is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the new Metal squad. You will manage our physical Metal environment, build and operate a Kubernetes control plane, and partner with Foundations to scale our on-prem resources beyond public cloud.

This remote, distributed role focuses on Go, Python and Shell development, Crossplane and Terraform tooling, and collaboration with engineers across time zones.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and managing workloads on Kubernetes.
• Ability to work in a remote-first, distributed environment.
• Familiarity with open-source ecosystems and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the physical ‘Metal’ environment from bare metal to Kubernetes.
• Oversee cluster networking components including load balancing, DNS, and CNIs.
• Manage scheduling and autoscaling for clusters.
• Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for CSP resources.
• Collaborate with Grafana Cloud teams to understand needs and invest in capabilities.
