Job summary

SSE plc invites a fully qualified Finance Business Partner to join the Business Energy team, with a base in Dublin or Reading and regular travel. You will partner with senior leaders to shape commercial decisions, lead budgeting and long-term planning, and translate financial data into actionable insight for profitable growth.

The role requires strong modelling, proven stakeholder influence, and deep knowledge of pricing, margin and working capital.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with substantial post-qualification experience in commercial finance, business partnering, financial planning or performance leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of business energy supply market and B2B customer economics, pricing, margin, cost-to-serve, credit risk and working capital drivers.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear insight, constructive challenge and commercially grounded recommendations.
• Advanced financial modelling, scenario analysis and performance insight capability.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders across Business Energy GB, providing insightful financial guidance and commercial expertise.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning with robust commercial assumptions.
• Turn financial performance into actionable insight by identifying drivers behind margin, customer volumes, bad debt and costs.
• Shape investment and commercial decisions by evaluating propositions, digital investments and other strategic initiatives.
• Translate strategy into sustainable growth and value through financial leadership across customer growth and retention.
